We take part in the development of Elza and regularly prepare built, ready-to-run versions of the program, which are available for download free of charge.
Elza
Software for archives to process their archival records. The application was created within the BETA programme of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. We take an active part in Elza's development and support archives in its rollout and operation.
Documentation
We are preparing documentation for the Elza application. It consists of an administrator’s guide, a user guide and a methodology guide, and is currently available in Czech.
Trial version
If you would like access to a trial installation of ELZA, you can register and ask us to create and configure an account for you. The trial version lets you verify the application’s functions; processed parts of an archival fonds can be transferred to another installation.
Archives and memory institutions
We help archives and other memory institutions introduce and implement the Elza application. We adapt and configure the application to the individual needs of your institution and can also help prepare and carry out the whole implementation project.
Electronic processing of archival records (ELZA)
The new Basic Rules for the Processing of Archival Records, issued by the Department of Archives Administration of the Czech Ministry of the Interior, gave rise to a programme called ELZA (from the Czech ELektronické Zpracování Archiválií). Its primary purpose is to support archivists during the processing of archival records and the creation of the archival description.

Ways to run Elza
Elza can be operated in several ways. We will gladly help you choose the option that suits you best.
Community edition
Holders of a user licence receive binary builds of Elza free of charge. These versions are intended primarily for testing and, if you wish, for running the application on your own. No technical support is provided for them.
Elza Server
Elza Server consists of prepared Elza versions with long-term technical support and guaranteed functionality. Under a contract we provide you with verified versions of the application, including support and implementation.
Elza Hosting
Elza Hosting lets you start using the application immediately, with no installation. We take care of the complete operation of Elza, including monitoring, technical support, backups and updates.
The hosted application can be adapted to the individual needs of your organisation.
Frequently asked questions
How do the Elza versions provided by the Czech Archives Administration differ from those provided by LightComp?
The versions provided by LightComp are based on the code published by the Archives Administration of the Czech Ministry of the Interior and include the fixes and improvements we make on an ongoing basis. We aim to publish new Elza versions as soon as possible after each change is finished. At the same time we contribute our changes back to the Elza+ project so that they can also be integrated into the version provided by the Archives Administration.
