Tahiti is an application for accessing documents stored in a document management system. It lets users view, create and edit them.
Tahiti lets users view and work with documents made available from the company’s information system. Scanned documents and photographs (including adding comments to them), HTML documents, text documents and forms can all be processed directly in the client application. Documents created in MS Office can be edited right inside the application, which makes it possible to generate advanced documents and correspondence straight from the information system. Documents can also be passed between users, or their processing can be connected to a workflow.
Documents can be added in several ways: by inserting files, by scanning an individual original, by batch scanning and registration in a mailroom, or directly from MS Word. The document is identified as it is added, which ensures it is filed correctly.
Particular care is taken to support high-speed scanners and special devices for document processing systems.
The user interface is well thought out and makes handling documents easy. Documents are organised in trees according to their logical classification. Documents (digital files) can be edited with both mouse and keyboard. The workspace supports single- and multi-document modes, which allows, for example, side-by-side comparison.
It can be fully adapted to the individual needs of users, while properties can also be set centrally. The look and behaviour follow ergonomic guidelines and the conventions of the operating system.
